The Founder

Decades spent listening to hearts — and to the people living with them.

Dr. Indrajit Choudhuri is a practicing cardiac electrophysiologist, researcher, inventor, and entrepreneur.

His career has been spent inside one of medicine's most technically sophisticated fields: understanding and treating disorders of the heart's electrical system. He has implanted and managed cardiac devices, performed complex electrophysiology procedures, contributed to peer-reviewed research, and worked at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and technology.

But OpenHeart grew from something simpler.

Patients kept having questions. Important questions. Human questions — the kind that often emerge after the procedure, after the appointment, in the long stretches of ordinary life between encounters with the healthcare system. Closing that gap, he came to believe, wasn't something one physician could do alone. It needed the people who build the devices and the institutions advancing the science, working from a shared premise rather than in separate silos.

OpenHeart is his attempt to build that coalition — starting with The Generator, and growing from there.

“My goal isn't to make patients their own doctors. It's to help them understand enough to become active participants in their own care.”
— Dr. Indrajit Choudhuri
