The Generator is a patient education platform and weekly publication created for people living with implanted cardiac devices — and the people who care for them.

Each issue takes a real question, device event, clinical term, or patient experience and examines it from several angles: what happened, what it might mean, how the technology works, what you should understand, what questions you might ask your clinical team, and what you can do while you wait.

The goal is not to turn patients into cardiologists. It is to help people become more knowledgeable about the technology inside their own bodies and more prepared for conversations about their care.

Receiving an implanted cardiac device can create a dividing line in a person's life. There is the physical recovery. But there can also be something harder to describe.

Modern medicine has become extraordinarily capable. But capability alone does not create agency. People also need understandable information. Context. Questions they know how to ask. And a relationship with their healthcare team in which they can participate meaningfully.

The Physician Behind The Generator

Decades spent listening to hearts — and to the people living with them.

Dr. Indrajit Choudhuri is a practicing cardiac electrophysiologist, researcher, inventor, and entrepreneur. His career has been spent inside one of medicine's most technically sophisticated fields: understanding and treating disorders of the heart's electrical system.

But The Generator grew from something simpler. Patients kept having questions. Important questions. Human questions — the kind that often emerge after the procedure, after the appointment, in the long stretches of ordinary life between encounters with the healthcare system.
